cinder block wall question

The wall protecting my A/C and pool gear has a section where the block cleanly broke away from the mortar. Footing is still level.

I can't match the old block color, so just want to reseal it. Can I use two stage concrete adhesive instead of traditional mortar to glue the block back onto the existing mortar base?
and should I add a rebar pin? Trying to avoid a full rebuild!

you can't match the old block color, so, after you set the block and the adhesive has cured, don't try to fill the gap with new gray mortar. Instead, use a colored concrete patch or caulk that closely matches the old, weathered gray of the surrounding mortar joints, or paint a thin layer of exterior block paint over the entire repair area once it's done.
