A client has asked me to construct a pool using a cinder block structure sealed with a cement based sealer like drylok or hydro ban, as much as I understand this method can work, I believe shotcrete would be a more reliable option with lower chances of leaks over time. I want to take on the project but also want to ensure it's built to last using the best approach, most of what I've found online involves block pools with liners, which seem prone to wear. Would love to hear from anyone with experience, is block with a cement sealer a good long term solution, or should I push for shotcrete?
