landscape construction situation

this house is a mess. Massive efflorescence everywhere on the masonry, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. I did a bunch of landscape construction work, but the general contractor handled all this other stuff. He's an older guy with a good rep, but he used his own subs for everything.
Idk if I should rat him out to the client, but being honest means basically trashing his work. So, do I hit them with everything, or just try the simple fixes first, like the caps (which are probably the main problem)
Well, at least fixing other people's screw ups pays well and there's always plenty of it.

Man, that's tough. If I were you I'd probably kick things off with the simple fixes like the caps and see what difference that makes. Usually when you see efflo it points to a moisture problem somewhere, so definitely take a look at the drainage and flashing too. If it's worse than it looks, then it might be time for straight-up convo. You thinking of looping the GC in first or just going straight to the client?

Probably water issues so yeah the caps are definitely a good place to start and honestly, I'd say fix the easy stuff first and see if that clears up the worst of it before throwing shade on the GC

Probably the caps are the main issue, fixing those might nip the problem in the bud without shaking the boat too much, but in the case of widespread efflorescence, the client deserves the full picture, balance honesty with professionalism
