Three different colors of stone veneer mortar

Just had some stacked stone veneer installed and paid extra for colored mortar. But I'm looking at the job now and the color is definitely uneven in several spots and it's giving me ick. I don;t like poorly done job. I mean they did good but it's just the colors, I guess. The contractor is claiming this is normal and says the different colors are because the mortar was exposed to varying amounts of sun wind and rain since the job took several days. And he is saying there is nothing he can do about it now. I think he just used a different mix ratio on different days. Is that weather excuse a real reason for such big color differences? and what can I do now to fix the color? Help!

yep, your contractor is right that weather conditions can cause significant color variations in colored mortar, and achieving a perfectly uniform color is difficult when a job takes several days.
just give it some time. mortar color can change as it fully cures over several weeks

if the color still isn't appealing, the most effective thing you can do is mortar staining. this can correct cured mortar color issues.
there are companies that offer staining services that can precisely match and uniformly color the mortar joints without affecting the stone
