I have been working as a masonry laborer for nearly a month now and I am definitely feeling the physical toll of the job. The days are long and the work is very repetitive but I am trying to stay positive about the future. I know that starting at the bottom is part of the process and I hope the daily grind gets easier as I get used to the heavy lifting. It is a tough industry and I want to hear from others who survived their first few months on the site. And I am looking for any advice on how to transition from moving bricks to actually laying them. Thanks!

Focus on your lifting form to protect your back and knees from long term injury.

Keep a consistent pace instead of trying to rush because endurance is more important than speed in this trade.
