Hello all,

If you are starting a walkway from the landing of a stairs, should the walkway (including border pavers) ideally my be the same with as the bottom stair/tread? This is our in-progress walkway. The border pavers haven’t been set yet. Any other concerns if it were yours? Thanks

hi @ropese made my own walkway last year, seeing your post, I just want to add a couple of things for you to pay close attention to.
first, the drainage. make sure the finished walkway slopes away from the base of the stairs and away from the house structure. A slight slope (about 1/8 inch per foot) is necessary to keep water from pooling near the foundation.

also the level base. since you've already laid the main pavers, double check that the compacted base material is perfectly level and uniform across the area where the border will go. A spongy or uneven border base will lead to shifting and cracking over time.
