YES to this! In a world where everything is now cheaply made and is planned obsolete... Masonry is the answer.What I liked is the idea of building something that lasts for decades instead of just fixing temporary things.
Especially when the project is done and stands the test of time.I enjoy the handson part of the work and the steady rhythm and also watching the project come together step by step.
That's nice learning from your gradnfather and now continuing it.My grandfather, used to do all the home stuff by himself like a good man would. Repair here and there. I tried to help when I was younger but had to go to college. Now I think that was an important lesson to learn first-hand.
