Starting a career in Masonry

I am looking at different career paths and I want to know if masonry is a good trade to join. People always say that skilled trades are a smart choice for a long career and masonry seems like a solid option. It is hard work but I like the idea of building things that last for a long time.

I want to hear from people who actually do this for a living to see if it is worth the effort. And I want to know if the pay is fair for the physical work involved. But I am mostly curious about what a normal day looks like on a job site. It feels like a trade that will always be in demand as long as people need new homes and buildings.

I think it is a good trade. I checked my area and there are only a few masons. Good thing there are available apprenticeships.
