stone job disaster

A contractor friend called me and asked if I can come over because he needs me to look into this stone job. And boy, was I surprised!
it was a complete disaster, it looked like 10 dogs rolled into the cement all at the same time. no, for real.


Now i don't even know why i'm here but I'm helping to clean this up. Anyone got a trick for getting dried cement off stones without destroying it?

Pretty sure a strong pressure washer would do the job. Dont use chemical as it can ruin the stones. Just a pressure wash and a little bit of patience lol

To remove dried cement from stones without causing damage, try a mix of vinegar and water to loosen it, and then gently scrape it off with a plastic tool. Honestly, I've run into messes like that before and there's no magic fix, just a lot of patience. You could try muriatic acid diluted carefully, but even then it can etch the stone if you're not careful enough but then....yunno sometimes a stiff brush and a lot of quiet frustration work just as well. Sorry you got roped into that one though, I really do feel you
